Fear is nothing to overly fret about when it comes to your job. It’s a really good thing actually, seen in the right light.

In fact, if you’re not experiencing some daily fear in your job, being scared and worried, well, something is wrong. If you look at fear from a different perspective, it’s really a motivator that’ll lift you off your seat every time. Actually, if it doesn’t have that effect on you, then you might be sitting uncomfortably numb and plenty of bad things can happen without addressing your fear.

Every day others are coming out swinging and trying to outsmart and out think you in order to take what you have. It could be competitors working to take away your employees, customers, market share, your products and services and ultimately your profits.

Fear, used properly, keeps you alert, fresh and relevant and it works to generate thoughts and ideas, forcing you into action to stay well ahead of those working against you.

I wake up at night every now and then from job-related dreams and that’s where the yellow pad and pen next to the bedside comes in handy. It is fear I am feeling, but it energizes me to confront whatever barriers are in my way that keep me from being a good leader and making the company the very best it can be.

Fear is good. Be easier on yourself when you’re feeling fearful. Rather than ignore or run from it, simply embrace fear, and put that good energy towards great things that create and achieve the results you want.

Don’t allow fear to freeze you into non-action as it’s really a positive and potentially very productive emotion to possess.
